Day 1

Cusco – Piskacucho Km 82 – Llactapata- Ayapata

  • First Day of Adventure: Beginning of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Start your adventure on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu from Cusco! We pick you up at 4:30 AM (5:30 AM if you are in Urubamba, or 6:30 AM in Ollantaytambo). Then, we head to Km 82, pass the first Inca Trail checkpoint and start the hike.

After passing through the first checkpoint at Km 82, we will begin the Inca Trail hike. Remember to bring your original passport to enter.

The first 2 hours are gentle, taking us to Patallacta, an ancient Inca checkpoint. Then, we will walk another 2 hours until we reach the lunch point.

After lunch, we will continue for an additional 2 hours to our campsite at Ayapata (3300 meters), passing through two small communities where you can buy drinks, snacks or essential items if needed.

We will arrive at camp at 5:00 PM. After settling in, relax with hot drinks and snacks with the team. Dinner will be ready at 7:30 PM, followed by a well-deserved rest.

Day 2

Warmiwañuska - Runccuracay Pass - Chaquiccocha

  • Conquering the First Step: Dead Woman's Passage

We start the day with a cup of coca tea prepared by our porters to give you energy. Today will be a long day, with about 4 hours of hiking to reach the highest point, the Paso de la Mujer Muerta at 4215 meters altitude.

Upon reaching the pass, we will make a brief stop to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views before descending to the Pacaymayu Valley - Hidden River for about an hour and a half. Here, at our lunch spot, you will be able to fill up your water bottles.

  • Discovering Runcu Raccay: The Second Step of the Journey

Then, we ascend for 2 hours to the second pass of the trek, passing by an Inca site called Runcu Raccay and contemplating two waterfalls in the opposite valley.

After crossing the second pass, we descend for an hour to Sayacmarca, an impressive and little visited Inca site. We take a short break here to explore the site.

In the afternoon, we enjoy the sunset over the Vilcabamba mountain range before arriving at our second campsite, Chaquicocha, located at 3600 meters altitude.

After dinner, if you still have energy, we invite you to stargaze and discover the fascinating Inca constellations in the magnificent southern hemisphere sky, far from artificial lighting. This sky is truly amazing!

Day 3

Chaquiccocha – Wiñaywayna

  • The Most Spectacular Day: From Phuyupatamarka to Wiñay Wayna

This day promises to be the most beautiful day of the Inca Trail. For 2 hours we will walk along a stretch known as the "Inca plane", entering the Cloud Forest. Here, we will enjoy views of the majestic Salkantay mountain and the impressive Vilcabamba range.

Then, we will ascend to Phuyupatamarka, located at 3600 meters above sea level and overlooking the Urubamba River. We will descend for 3 hours until we reach Wiñay Wayna, a spectacular Inca site that will be our last campsite.

After lunch at 1:00 PM, you will have free time to rest before the guided tour to Wiñay Wayna, scheduled at approximately 4:30 PM. During this excursion, your guide will give you a brief orientation and you will explore the Inca ruins of Wiñay Wayna for an hour and a half. During this visit, your guide will explain the importance of the site and consolidate all the information provided during the hike, fully preparing you for your Machu Picchu experience.

Day 4

Sun Gate - Machu Picchu - The Lost City of the Incas

  • Machu Picchu

Our last day on the Inca Trail begins at 3:30 AM. After breakfast at 4:00 AM, we head to the checkpoint, ready to start the trek at 5:30 AM.

After saying goodbye to our team of porters and chef, we head towards the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and Machu Picchu.

We arrive at the Sun Gate around 6:30 AM and have only an hour's hike left to reach the Lost City of the Incas. As we go on, the views of the city improve.

At approximately 7:40 AM, we arrive at the final checkpoint and begin our 2-hour private guided tour of Machu Picchu. After the tour, we receive our bus tickets that will take us back to Aguas Calientes. Here, you have free time to explore or climb a nearby mountain, such as Huaynapicchu (with prior reservation).

Your guide can offer to meet you in Aguas Calientes for lunch (optional and not included) and distribute train tickets. Make sure you are on the train platform in advance. The trip takes approximately 2 hours to Ollantaytambo or Poroy (depending on the train schedule). Our driver will meet you there and take you back to the city in our bus, dropping you off at your hotel.
